Having been unfamiliar with the United States Naval EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) until recently, my daughter\u00a0 has excitedly informed me and her father that she has been accepted into this prestigious program.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“The United States Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal technicians render\u00a0safe all types of ordnance, including improvised, chemical, biological, and nuclear.\u00a0 [Ordnance is artillery; all weapons and ammunition used in warfare.]\u00a0\u00a0The technicians\u00a0perform land and underwater location, identification, render-safe, and recovery (or disposal) of foreign and domestic ordnance [aka: bombs].”\u00a0 (http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org<\/a>)\u00a0 If you are a parent, would not such facts raise hairs on the back of your <\/em>neck?!\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n “What do\u00a0you think?\u00a0 How do you feel about this?’\u00a0 have been the first remarks from others.\u00a0 Well, I have always been\u00a0excited when she was excited, happy when she is happy, etc.\u00a0\u00a0 That hasn’t changed and never will.\u00a0 After all, one of my life-time duties as a mother is to pray and then be concerned on the verge of worrying.\u00a0 I accept that she always wanted to enter\u00a0a U. S. military organization; I accept that she is mature enough to make her own decisions without regret; I know that she is an extremely intelligent young woman, empowered\u00a0with already having\u00a0made mature and lifetime decisions.\u00a0 She is responsible, she is dependable.\u00a0\u00a0She is all good things.\u00a0 She is my heart.\u00a0 She is my daughter.<\/p>\n It is\u00a0my selfishness that would hold her back and I will not allow that to happen.\u00a0 It is my selfish love that does not want to be without her for years at a time.\u00a0\u00a0 With all this in and on my mind,\u00a0I wanted to share – vent – with you, dear readers.\u00a0<\/p>\n Simply and unending, God Bless our Military,\u00a0their Families that stand FOR each end every soldier, with each and every Citizen of these United States.\u00a0\u00a0Amen.<\/p>\n A.
