{"id":697,"date":"2013-08-02T12:22:41","date_gmt":"2013-08-02T19:22:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mydiabeticsoul.com\/?p=697"},"modified":"2013-08-07T11:04:11","modified_gmt":"2013-08-07T18:04:11","slug":"me-my-money-a-childs-story-of-diabetes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mydiabeticsoul.com\/?p=697","title":{"rendered":"Me &#038; My Money&#8230;a child&#8217;s story of diabetes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Copyrighted in 2012, <em>Me &amp; My Money&#8230;a child&#8217;s story <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">of<\/span> diabetes<\/em>, took two years to write.<\/p>\n<p>From birthing thoughts, jotting ideas, typing a manuscript, carrying a daily journal, contacting an illustrator, \u00a0building the manuscript, proofreading and editing again and again and again and&#8230;you get the idea&#8230;this dream came to fruition.\u00a0 It had do be done.\u00a0 There is nothing like it &#8212; as far as my research could go &#8212; that reflects, mimics, or encourages diabetic children.\u00a0 This manuscript is now available to the general public in paperback form.\u00a0 Celebrate!!<\/p>\n<p>Submitting to a marketable world with a targeted audience, networking, promoting, speaking, scheduling, relenting, sacrificing, etc., continues to gain a wide and attentive audience.\u00a0 From what I have been told repeatedly, this is the first book of its kind &#8212; reflecting the insights of a juvenile diabetic, a T1, a T1D.<\/p>\n<p>Briefly, the main character, <em>Kali<\/em>,\u00a0is presently a fourth grader.\u00a0 She was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of two.\u00a0 Her rapid growth\u00a0with\u00a0blooming and wizened independence results from learning how to take care of herself.\u00a0 Wayne, a best friend, knows her very well and together they embark on adventures through Wayne&#8217;s hobby, their separate and shared responsibilities, mutual friends, and more.\u00a0 But Kali cannot forget her special pack!\u00a0 She must carry this with her every day, everywhere.\u00a0 What&#8217;s in this special pack?\u00a0 You can only imagine!<\/p>\n<p>Through the wonderful insightfulness of illustrator <em>Amy Pichly-Meyer<\/em> who is responsible for\u00a0the clarity of expression with the cover diesign, along with all 37 colored \u00a0illustrations, this\u00a0book was built for you.\u00a0 I am thankful for her friendshop and abilities.<\/p>\n<p>My &#8220;IT Guy&#8221; and husband,<em> Wayne Ross<\/em>,\u00a0mind-boggled through the computer and its typical moodiness &#8212; \u00a0with patience &#8212;\u00a0to get what was needed, what was distinctly preferred.\u00a0 Amazing work with quality brought me\u00a0a keen sense of empowerment for the world-public.\u00a0 I am grateful.\u00a0\u00a0I could never have done what he did to get this into print.\u00a0 After all, frustration is part of any job and greatly disliked!<\/p>\n<p>The above introduction highlights this delightful family-and-children&#8217;s book.\u00a0 It\u00a0will be available for puchase August 16, 2013.\u00a0\u00a0Colorfully pictured, it is a 107-page, lightweight paperback\u00a0book with\u00a0 ISBN 978 1490354873 for your convenience.\u00a0 Yes, it is available via e-readers.\u00a0 However, and unknown to me at the time of submittal, e-readers to do not show the illustrations in color, only black &amp; white.\u00a0 It&#8217;s cheaper that way, truth be told.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Me &amp; My Money Too&#8230;a child&#8217;s story <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">with<\/span> diabetes&#8221; is soon to follow with &#8220;Kisses for Cash&#8230;a child&#8217;s story <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">about<\/span> diabetes.&#8221;\u00a0 I know you will enjoy reading this in all its formats as much as I enjoyed writing it (them)!\u00a0 Please leave a review.\u00a0 And you are always welcome and encouraged to leave a comment.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you and take care&#8230;important words to live with.<\/p>\n<p>A.
