Oprah, Oprah, Oprah – yes, the one and only “Oprah [Winfrey]” with whom many of us\u00a0are familiar.<\/p>\n
I am referring to her television\u00a0show that aired Thursday, February 4, 2010, regarding “diabetes.”\u00a0 Having\u00a0read enough blogs from naysayers, I would like to rid of the negativity or at least try.\u00a0<\/p>\n
As I am not a consecutive viewer of her show, I was able to catch the last ten minutes of this particular one.\u00a0 Thanks to bloggers’ notifications about its date and time, I never would have known.\u00a0<\/p>\n
To go on, I simply want to thank Ms. Winfrey and her compatriots for attempting the subject of diabetes<\/em>.\u00a0 I am unfamiliar with other television\u00a0show hosts having ever attempted this subject.\u00a0 As a life-time diabetic, this disease and all of its subject matters\u00a0are complex, baffling, intricate in daily details, tiring, and unending.\u00a0 How could one show-host cover it all?\u00a0 “Impossible,” I say.\u00a0<\/p>\n Aside from “dTV\u00a0(diabetic television),” a supposed television show pertaining strictly to diabetes, I have never known diabetes to be\u00a0internationally broadcast.\u00a0 “dTV” is unavailable to me, therefore, I cannot comment on its progression.\u00a0 I knew of its existence through a magazine advertisement seen many<\/em> years ago.\u00a0 Why not comment on that<\/em> show?\u00a0 I, for one, would like to hear about it.\u00a0 Perhaps it no longer exists.<\/p>\n To conclude, Ms. Winfrey brought international notification and realization to the pandemic<\/em>\u00a0of diabetes – if only by simply giving it time.\u00a0 Time is what is needed.\u00a0 Unless a person lives with it, it<\/em> is difficult to understand.\u00a0 It<\/em>\u00a0may be\u00a0appreciate; a diabetic’s\u00a0efforts to thrive may be appreciated; but to understand is different.\u00a0\u00a0It<\/em>\u00a0is a worldwide\u00a0concern in competition with so many other human diseases.\u00a0 Hindsight, as always, will materialize.\u00a0 Simply, thank you, Ms. Winfrey.<\/p>\n AK.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Oprah, Oprah, Oprah – yes, the one and only “Oprah [Winfrey]” with whom many of us\u00a0are familiar.
